It’s that time of the year again! National Smile Month is just around the corner, and here at Y Bont Faen Dental Centre, we’re gearing up to celebrate one of the UK’s most beloved campaigns promoting oral health. From 13th May to 13th June 2024, the Oral Health Foundation will be leading the way, spreading awareness about the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and the joy of sporting a healthy smile.
At Y Bont Faen Dental Centre, we’re passionate about dental care and the impact it has on overall well-being. National Smile Month aligns with our mission to provide high quality dental treatment while educating the Cowbridge community about oral health. This year, we’re thrilled to be part of the nationwide effort to inspire healthier smiles.
Maintaining a healthy mouth doesn’t have to be complicated. Here are 3 simple tips from Dr Lara Welch:
- Brush Regularly: Make it a habit to brush your teeth last thing at night and at least one other time during the day using fluoride toothpaste. This helps remove plaque, prevent cavities, and keep your breath fresh.
- Watch Your Sugar Intake: Sugary foods and drinks can wreak havoc on your teeth, leading to decay and other dental issues. Cut down on sugary snacks and beverages to protect your pearly whites.
- Schedule Regular Dental Check-ups: Visiting your dentist regularly is crucial for maintaining good oral health. Your dentist can spot early signs of problems, provide professional cleanings, and offer personalised advice for optimal dental care.
As we gear up for National Smile Month, let’s commit to prioritising our oral health and spreading smiles everywhere we go.
