Joanna qualified from Guy’s Dental Hospital, London, in 1992.
After working in London, Cumbria, Sandhurst and Dover, Joanna moved to Wales in 2007 with her family and has been here ever since.
She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but has particular interest in root canal treatment and cosmetic dentistry, including tooth whitening. She likes helping patients with dental anxieties and putting them at ease.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two teenage daughters, going to concerts, cooking and running.
Trainee Dental Nurse
Laura is our trainee dental nurse. She recently changed to dental nursing after a career in education. She enjoys the fast paced nature of the role and seeing confidence in people grow when they fix their smile. She particularly enjoys the hygiene and orthodontic elements of the job.
Outside of work she is busy with her young daughter and enjoys going on long walks as a family with her dog Bonnie.

Bethan is our practice manager. She started with Y Bont Faen Dental a few years ago when she trained with us to be a dental nurse. Bethan enjoys socialising with her friends and spending time with family.

Kate is our Dental Hygienist and Therapist. She graduated from the University of Portsmouth in 2018. She loves her job because she gets to work directly with patients to achieve better oral health and improve smiles and patient confidence. It’s very rewarding for her to see the progress patients make through education and a solid understanding of their oral health and preventive tools. She also gets to work with the brilliant team who make every work day feel like fun.
She spends most of her free time trying to grow vegetables on her allotment or hiking up mountains on sunny days.
Receptionist
Jane has been a dental receptionist for many years and been part of the Y Bont Faen Dental team for quite a few of them. She has a large family that she loves spending time with, when not at her favourite place in Tenby .

Diane joined the Y Bont Faen Dental team in January 2022 as a receptionist, a role she very much enjoys. She relocated to the Vale of Glamorgan from Hereford in Dec 2019. Her previous employment includes working as a Personal Assistant/Admin Manager within the NHS.
In her spare time she enjoys baking and going on long walks with her Cocker spaniel, Louis.

Sarah joined the Y Bont Faen Dental team in January 2022 as a receptionist. Previously Sarah worked in an opticians.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends, loves weekends away and when the weather is nice she enjoys going camping.

Kirsty is a qualified dental nurse and currently enjoying learning dental radiography. In her free time she enjoys shopping or going out for food with friends. She has a new baby so is enjoying the next chapter of her life.

Francesca graduated from Birmingham in 2017 and has recently moved back to Cardiff after working for a few years in Derby. She’ll be providing general dentistry and is an Invisalign Go provider. Fran always aims to provide empathetic care and make a dental appointment as comfortable and relaxed as possible, especially for those with dental anxiety.
Outside of work Francesca enjoys cooking and baking. She loves trying out new recipes from all over the world.

Patrick graduated with honours from Cardiff in 2014 and has since worked in mixed private and NHS practices. Pat has been at Y Bont Faen Dental Centre for 4 years.
Pat enjoys all aspects of dentistry but his real interest lies in dental implants. He graduated from the Cambridge academy of dental implantology with a distinction and currently offers a wide array of implant and related cosmetic work as well as continuing his learning in the subject by attending advanced courses.
Outside of dentistry, he likes to keep fit and has always played a number of sports including rugby and skiing. He enjoys spending time with friends and being with his dog as much as possible.
Trainee Dental Nurse
Katie recently started as a trainee dental nurse at Y Bont Faen Dental Centre, she loves how the job gives such a variety of responsibility that teaches her something new everyday. She feels the practice has a natural family feel to it, with an amazing team of people.
Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her partner and her two dogs going for long walks and ending with cosy evenings at home!
Lorna has been working in dentistry since 2015 where she began her career as a dental nurse. It ignited a passion which led to her current role as a dental hygienist.
She loves treating her patients and helping them manage their oral hygiene and seeing results.
In her spare time she loves spending time with her partner, friends and family. She also enjoys reading and traveling.
She has recently bought her first home together with her partner where they are both learning new skills whilst doing up it up!

Jessica graduated from Cardiff University in 2017. She enjoys all aspects of Dentistry but in particular has been enjoying improving patients confidence through smile makeovers and Invisalign. Outside of work Jess loves holidays and socialising with friends.

Originally from Cornwall, Nathan has lived and worked in Wales since 2005, Qualifying from Cardiff University in 2010. He has worked at Y Bont Faen Dental Centre for 4 years. He took over the practice with his wife Lara in March 2021.
Professionally Nathan enjoys several areas of dentistry, including Oral Surgery, Endodontics and Cosmetic Dentistry. He is a certified Invisalign provider. He particularly enjoys family dental care and making sure children have positive experiences to build on at the Dentist. Nathan also is involved in the mentoring of newly Qualified Dentists.
Outside of work Nathan can often be found out walking with his wife, son, dog and new baby daughter around the Vale and the Rhondda. He is also a proficient snowboarder and has ticked off all bar a few of the steepest slopes in the Alps.

Lara qualified from Cardiff University in 2012. She enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but is particularly interested in oral surgery and cosmetic dentistry. She has been supervising newly qualified dentists for a few years which she gets great satisfaction from, enjoying passing on her knowledge and experience.
Lara took over Y Bont Faen Dental Centre in 2021 with her husband Nathan and is appreciating having a new challenge in learning the business side to dentistry. Outside of dentistry Lara enjoys painting and other types of crafts, cake decorating and going for nice walks with her family and her dog.
Trainee Dental Nurse
Demi is training to be a dental nurse, having started in Y Bont Faen Dental in January 2022. Outside of work she enjoys family days out with her fiancé and her young daughter.

Danni is our Dental nurse, she is due to graduate this month with a First Class honours degree in social policy and criminology. In her spare time Danni enjoys watching her son play football.
